Kansas Latin Mass community willl soon have its own church
Bishop Robert W. Finn speaks to members of the Latin Mass community at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish following Mass on Aug. 14. The newspaper of the Diocese of Kansas City reports on the meeting between Bishop Robert W. Finn and members of the Kansas Latin Mass Community at Our Lady of Sorrows on August 14th. The bishop, addressing the group of 200, announced that they will be given their own church and their own priest. A priest of the Institute of Christ the King will join the community as rector in early October. The new home for the congregation will be Old St. Patrick's Church in downtown Kansas City, built in 1875. The move will take place after renovations of the building are complete. The article reports that Bishop Finn has appointed himself titular pastor of the community, pledges to support the community in the future, and will offer Confirmation according the Traditional Rite.
